Concluding Sunday, my toddler, a little girl aged one year and 9 months old, spent the day running around and playing with her cousins. She was perfectly good for you that solar day, merely was irritable during the ride home (which was already dark time, so I thought it was considering she was sleepy). That night when she slept, I noticed she was snoring more than usual, which led me to retrieve that she might take a cold.

The next day (Monday), I woke upwards around 4am and checked on her and felt that she was and then hot. I got the thermometer and found out that she had a fever of about 38.six degrees. We gave her paracetamol, and her usual cold medicine, and her fever was gone. After near six hours, the fever came back again. I recall it was because the paracetamol has lost event or something, but we still took her to the doctor, regardless. The medico prescribed the usual paracetamol (usual hither, we take a variety of paracetamol for infants, toddlers and kids), cold medicine for toddlers and a 7-twenty-four hours round of antibiotics for her cold.

On Monday dark, her fever was completely gone, and did not recur the entire day Tuesday. When we woke up this morning (Wed), we institute out that her fever was back (her temperature was 38.nine). Afterward taking her medicine, the fever was gone over again and did not come up back so far. ( I hope she recovers completely)

This is driving me crazy with worry because I don't know what acquired her fever to come back. She was perfectly fine yesterday and she was resting the entire fourth dimension complete with fluids and her medicine.

What can I do next?

K., it sounds similar your daughter is fighting something. A fever isn't a bad thing. Information technology is the manner a body naturally fights disease. Only if it gets as well loftier as to cause a seizure, is information technology something to worry about. Why on earth would a dr. requite antibiotics for a cold? That doesn't make any sense. Paracetamol is not a safe matter to be giving a kid so freely. It is horrible for your liver, potentiallycausing liver failure over time. Let her rest, give her fluids. You tin can give her peppermint oil in water (ane drib is all yous need), which will help her regain her wellness. Give it to her a few times a day. If she is having a hard time sleeping, and then you can give her paracetamol, only other than that, I wouldn't.

Your temps are throwing me off, and then I can't tell if its a bad fevor or not. If your dr. checked for the basics - ear infection, sinus infection, strep throut - then it could exist that she has a sensitivity to something where she was playing on Sun, and her trunk only hasn't figured it out notwithstanding.

The medicine is masking the fever, not curing what e'er is going on with her. In that location is a good risk she may be getting her two twelvemonth molars. I never actually medicated my kids when they were growing upwardly. Also fevers actually assistance in an affliction, co-ordinate to some pediatricians I have spoke to. But keep whatsoever heart on her for whatsoever changes of behavior, in her eating, sleeping, only I take an 18 month former in my daycare who is cutting her 2 twelvemonth molars, and her fever was upwardly and down besides. Hope this helps. J.

My child has done this twice now..fever came and went, cranky, but no other symptoms, and it lasted a few days both times. I honestly don't know for sure if she was teething (because she wouldn't let us in her mouth to see) but information technology'south the just matter I can effigy out. I'grand guessing 2 year molars. Hopefully we're done with that for a while now.

My friends son was having similiar fevers to what your girl is going through. She was taking him to the dr., and even to the emergy. rm. Until one of the dr.'due south at the emergy. rm checked his pharynx. Found out he had an infection, and was causing the fevers. Did your girl get her throat checked? it could exist the samething. Or like some of the other ladies said she could also exist teething. Hope she feels amend.

people tend to go hot when they sleep...could exist from dreaming..i don't know why..but possibly she just gets hot when she sleeps...there is an herbal remedy for influenza's and colds called Umka..the tea works the all-time..you cascade powder into hot water..just i usually give my son the liquid kind..you lot can get it at Wholefoods..information technology cuts the duration of a cold or flu downward...if she is sick you can't expect it to just exist gone in a day...some flu's have 2 weeks or more..but i accept a feeling she but gets hot when she sleeps..i would expect an hour after she's been up and and so have her temp and run into if she has a fever..if so then give her her meds and afterward 6 hours accept her temp once more..if its support..give her her meds.

I'm not sure giving Paracetemol in one case is going to cause her liver bug, especially if information technology'south made for babies but everyone has their own opinion on drugs for children. I agree on the antibiotics - I retrieve doctors give that stuff likewise freely. With fevers, you should just monitor it and make them as comfortable as possible. You have to make the decision that Y'all feel comfortable with regarding giving your kid meds. :)
We had the same issue with our 3.5 yr old girl last year - exact symptoms. My doctor said information technology was a strain of H1M1 or whatsoever that virus was last year that everyone was talking well-nigh/had. He simply sent her home and recommended a fever reducer - we kept an heart on it and information technology went in a couple days. It was truly strange though - had the fever one day, went to daycare for a couple days when it was gone, so they called usa because information technology was back again. She was wiped out. But there were no other symptoms. I'd never seen anything similar it. She basically just slept it off.

Good luck!
